Spring 2024 Program Managers Moment:
It’s been a bit since my last update here and wow have we been busy! In December 2023, Montgomery CERT celebrated 20 years of service to the people of Montgomery County. We were honored to have County Executive Marc Elrich as our special guest. As you can see from the photos a very good time was had by all!

This spring, we are continuing with a very active training program, including a special triage exercise put together by our Training Coordinator David Steele in February which challenged our team to improvise, adapt, and overcome.

We are offering CPR and EMR renewal classes to our members in March and April, and continuing an excellent series of short training presentations at each month’s general meeting (second Thursday each month at PSHQ at 1900 and online). As you can see on this site, a NEW CERT BASIC course in April and May.
In other news, CERT 700 has received some upgrades and needed repairs to keep it ready to respond, our CSB facility is now open, and our project to provide county-supplied uniforms to active CERT’s is well underway.
This July (22-26) the National CERT Conference will be held in Washington DC! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and train with CERTs and others from around the nation and the NCR. Much more information coming very soon here on this site.
As always, our volunteers continue to provide excellent service to our fellow citizens day after day, and on behalf of Divion Chief Mike Kelley and I, we remain proud and grateful for all they do.
