TEEN CERT is a joint county and federal Homeland Security initiative directed at making our schools and communities safer by having educated/ trained youth capable of preparing and responding to disasters and emergencies.
Montgomery County TEEN CERT training is an integral part of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Volunteer Services, focused on disaster preparedness, awareness of county public safety programs, and encouragement of stronger community involvement..
The 42 hour training program is approved for Student Service Learning hours for ages 14-18. Pre-registration is required for the course which runs Thursday nights 7-9 pm and Sunday afternoons 12:30-4:30pm at 13 E. Diamond Avenue at the GWGVFD museum/community center. Course is free but space is limited. Attendance at all sessions is required for certification.
