CERT Annual Elections for Board of Directors 2026-2027


It is time again to hold our annual elections for the CERT Board of Directors positions. We currently have the following members in the current executive board positions:

Brett Wernick, Vice President
Joe Massi, Secretary
Gene Costa, Treasurer

We have been accepting nominations for interested candidates that are CERT members in good standing* to run for any of the above positions for the 2026-2027 year.

The ballot will be live on April 1st and be available until 6pm April 9th. Each member in good standing* will be able to cast 1 vote per position- President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer

* Qualifications for being a member in good standing:

  • Completed Montgomery CERT Basic curriculum or a completed certificate of CERT Basic Training from another jurasdiction.
  • Maintain current contact information in CERVIS.
  • Participate in at least 10 hours of MC-CERT activities each calendar year.
  • Notify MC-CERT President or Program Manager about any extended absences from the County.
  • Be registered in the PIMS with a completed background check and have applied for a County MCFRS ID card.
  • Have taken the mandatory HR training on the MCFRS Tech Training site.
  • Have a signed code of conduct submitted to HR from our CERT By-Laws document.
