CERT General Membership Meetings (note the location and
time change)
Date:
Thursday, July 17, 2008
Time:
Beginning at 1830h (6:30 PM)
Location:
Stella Warner Council Office Building (COB) Auditorium, 100 Maryland
Avenue, Rockville, Maryland 20850
Training Topic: Damage Assessment Training
CERT has an IMPORTANT TRAINING OPPORTUNITY
coming up with the Emergency
Management and Homeland Security Department and the Department of Permitting
Services. Mike Pokorny, Department of Permitting Services, and Tony Loconte
of EM/HDS have agreed to co-teach with Kathee Henning to provide Damage
Assessment Training to CERT and other volunteers. We have the opportunity
to share the training with the other disaster response volunteers in the
County, especially RACES, REACT, M A Dogs, MRC, DEPT, Skywarn, and any
others, so please forward this information to your lists.
To accommodate the instructors, we have changed the monthly meeting date to
JULY 17 (was July 10). We apologize for the late notice, but felt that in
view of the storms we have had and should expect over the next few months,
Damage Assessment is a task perfectly suited for CERT and other County
disaster volunteers.
The training is at the Stella Werner Council Office Building (COB)
Auditorium at 100 Maryland Ave., Rockville, MD 20850.
The COB is just down the street from our regular meeting place, in the
building that is attached to the garage many of us use for the regular
monthly meetings. The parking garage is at the corner of Route 28 and
Monroe Street.
The meeting time will be 6:30 - 9:00 PM (latest) followed by a CERT business
meeting. If you are unable to arrive at 6:30, come as soon as you can.
Our
monthly CERT Meetings are held on the second
Thursday of every month
beginning at 1900h (7:00 PM)
Unless
otherwise instructed, the meetings are held at:
The Executive Office Building (EOB)
Auditorium Room
Lobby floor
101 Monroe Street
Rockville, MD 20850
